Handrails have several options that can be added to enhance the appearance feel of safety.

Cover Bar

Cover bar is a 1 ¾ wide inch of steel that is layered over the basic handrail.
This gives the entire rail a more substantial look and feel.

Tongues

A tongue is a decorative piece of wrought iron that is added to the end of the railing.
This gives a finished look and serves as a handle.

Volutes

A volute is a different decorative style of cast iron that gives a completed look to the end of the handrail.
It is said to be inspired by the curve of a ram’s horns.
